Green Tip

I'm gonna start posting these little green tips every now and then.
I know there are alot of ignorant people out there that think global warming doesn't exist, and this planet doesn't have environment issues, or at least ones we need to address, but the fact is...

We do.

As a Christian, the bible calls us to take care of what God has given us, and if that's not enough...
We're not giving the future of this planet much to work with.

Anyways...

Here's a little green tip for you guys.

Plastic is a HUGE part of most people's carbon footprint, and it's pretty hard, and next to impossible to just completely omit the use of plastic in ones life. However, besides recycling plastic, there are other things you can do.

If you're like me and drink tons of bottled water, obviously make sure you're recycling the bottle, but also, make sure you're not re-consuming bottles.
Re-fill old water bottles with tap water, or if you're like Lexington Kentucky, and the water tastes like pennies, you can go to most grocery stores and pick up a gallon jug of water, and then go to a filtered water filling stations.

Most Krogers have these, and if your's doesn't, try any Good Foods, or Whole Foods stores, they have them. You can take your water jug, and fill it up, for usually less than 25 cents.

Anyways...
that's the green tip of the week for you.

Also, to save plastic, Mark and I have bought those re-useable grocery bags. I actually like them a whole more because you can get more stuff in them and the straps are big enough to put them over your shoulder. Plus, I hate having hundreds of little plastic bags (however if you do go this route, you can recycle them at Wal-Mart so they can use them again!) Just my little additional Green tip!
